vScan Utility Avoidance Tool and vScanM Utility Avoidance Tool are two models of buried utility detection devices. These are also very cost effective and intelligent devices. The user can configure vScan locators frequencies to either 33kHz or 131kHz according to comfort level. There are three different locate modes – Power, Radio and sonde with 3 frequencies.
vScanM Utility Avoidance Tool
The vScanM Utility Avoidance Tool has all the features of vScan model plus, it is capable to detect buried metal lids, manhole covers and valve boxes etc. Visual and mechanical vibration alerts are configurable to give warnings of shallow depth, overload, overhead cables and excessive swinging.
With Bluetooth connectivity, user can connect a smartphone and GPS device to send data to cloud. With cloud data in VMMap portal, user can make mapping with saved details.

Standard locate screen shows the peak response indicator and line direction compass. This feature is only available in expensive models of competitive products.
Pressing i-button will give reading with current measurement and logging options
The Self-Test: The self-test feature will check whether the receiver or locator is operating correctly, and the calibration is not drifted.
Active modes such as Metal mode (only in vScanM Model), Bluetooth and Points of Interest are shown on the LCD screen.
Modes of searching: Power Mode, Radio Mode, Active Modes and Sonde Modes
Battery and Life: Locator or Receiver need 6 Nos of AA batteries. Transmitter needs 4 Nos of D cells. Life of Alkaline battery is around 30 hours and Li-ion Batteries will go approximately 36 hours.
