Retractable lanyards are versatile safety devices that combine convenience with fall protection. They consist of a webbing or cord core encased in a compact housing. When not in use, the lanyard retracts automatically, keeping it out of the way. However, in the event of a fall, the internal braking system instantly engages to arrest the fall.
