The C.A.T4 digital platform delivers highly refined locate capabilities, specifically designed to help the operator find more buried utilities. The C.A.T4 Avoidance Mode™ lets the operator check an intended excavation area for Power, Radio, and Genny signals. Because of its quality signal capture, it can pinpoint located utilities in a single scan.
Features such as the bar graph ‘tidemark’ help the operator to quickly find a peak response and zero-in on a buried conductor.
The Genny4 Signal Generator provides simultaneous dual-frequencies such as power and radio and locates signal output. Similarly, there is a familiar 33kHz locate signal for general purpose locates. Genny4 transmits this second higher frequency. Therefore the locator finds the location of small diameter cables such as telecoms and power; especially in the case of street lighting and the same way spurs too.
In particular testing, the power boost function enables the locate signal to travel further and deeper. This helps to reach and find utilities more easily.
